I know, I read the reviews, most people loved this movie, liked this movie or at least did not dislike it. After having watched it, I thought I did not like it too much, but I left it at that. But something kept bothering me and I kept thinking about “Juno”. What is wrong with this film? In one of my favourite films “Tootsie”, there is a scene when Jeff (played by Bill Murray), the playwright/waiter, says “I do not want you to come to me right after the show and say “Vow, Jeff, I get it! I want you to come to me the next day and say “Bill, what happened?”" What I am talking about is pretty much self-explanatory. Some films are too easy and too boring. Most people have noticed that in “Juno” something had happened. Something that was not expected. To me, the dialogue is the main character and the characters and the story are merely a backdrop for dialogue. It felt artificial. Characters are hardly believable – most of them. Juno experiments and she calls the shots. She gets a guy, she gets pregnant, she decides what to do with IT. She is not a teenager, but a meticulous scientist and she experimenting on the viewers. She is testing just how far can she push and how far can she go. Children do it all the time. I also remember the famous character Raskolnikov from “Crime and Punishment”, who was trying to figure out, whether he could do it. How about Vanessa, the future adoptive mother? She feels that she destined to be a mother. Well, that is a blessing. Yet, all I see that she needs a new toy, just for herself. People who have a calling are usually unstoppable. She would have been surrounded by children if she loved them. In conclusion, watch this film! And think about it. I believe it deserves the attention it gets. Whatever you get from this film, it is all yours!

In retrospect. I should tell you that the story began in a very romantic way. It was a romance. Do not worry, I am not going to say anything bad about the guy. No need. On July 6, somewhat around 7 p.m. I was in downtown Toronto sitting unable to continue my journey which probably began at 7 a.m. I did a lot of walking around and by the end of the day I was merely exhausted. So I sat there, looked at water and thought, and thought, and thought. An hour and half later I noticed a guy in a uniform and I wanted to ask him something and I approached him thinking he was a police officer. But he turned out to be a security guard. And I said: “I am sorry, I thought you were a police officer”. That’s how the story began. He came and we talked. I do not really remember what about. He was nice, pleasant, very nice voice, good-looking and I told him about my divorce and my situation. We laughed. He offered to help me, saying that he really, really can help me. I was not so sure, though, how. And then I showed him the bracelets that I bought that day at the Bay (Bloor & Yonge). Aha! Location. A lot of films are shot in Toronto.

Moving on (it is a movie). He said, the bracelet was very nice and I took it off and gave to him. I said “You can take it.” He did. I do not remember how much did I pay, but it was “Expression” $40.0 plus tax. I paid less because it was on sale. The other one was “Variations” $20 plus tax. I left it at his place later. So two bracelets as …. I see them as keepsakes, but also bracelets remind me of handcuffs. Funny. Later when we had our first date he was talking about marriage and that he should give me a ring. And I kept saying it was not necessary. Yet, I was the one who “handcuffed” him first. Does he still keep them? Who knows? I am not going to ask. However, he gave me something. Not a ring. Something rather bizarre. I keep it. Along with all the memories. It was good while it lasted. I am telling you he is a good guy. Very intelligent. Strong. He was scared of me. You should not be either.

Nice picture, Goose. Literature and movies are all about life. (the universe and everything). It is storytelling. We all sit around a big fire and somebody tells us a story. Were you ever a little boy?

Goose, I’m so glad someone else feels the same way and is asking that question. I realize this is a forum and the topics sometimes drift away from movies into other areas of interest but this is getting way out of hand.

With all due respect Svetlana (formerly Kallini), if you really feel it’s necessary to write down every single random thought I suggest you create a blog where you can just write whatever it is that pops into your head and your friends can go read it for themselves.

Your posts and threads border on the incoherent at times which causes me to question your mental state.

Svetlana, if you want to tell a story, that’s fine, although many would argue that a discussion board on a DVD rental site is hardly the most appropriate setting for such a production.

Stories, though, require a beginning, middle, and end, usually in that order. Your “plotlines” aren’t really lines, and more closely resemble a slinky caught in a weed whacker.

You’d probably find a more receptive audience by putting up a LiveJournal, or some other type of blog.

And to answer your question, no, I was never a little boy. I was spawned from a labratory fully grown.

Maybe, you are right. But, as a certified brain surgeon, I have to tell you that the human brain does not operate with the “beginning-middle-climax-end” pattern. It is by association and randomization. Just be patient. It will come to you eventually.

You know how a child learns a language? The first one? It is not ABCs. No way. Adults talk to a child at full speed with their developed vocabulary and little by little a child make a sense of it all. Does my example make any sense?

I just watched “Deceit”. I really liked it. Believe it or not I was once called a Sexual Predator. All I do make guys (or girls) sing, dance, smile and laugh. I inspire people. This girl Emily is a Sexual Predator. This is a really good film. The sound reminded me of a heart pounding throughout the whole movie. Did you see that one?

To tell you the truth, I was just pushed too far. Last year I decided to call it quits and commit a suicide. Still wondering about my mental health state? Do not. I am an expert in it. I am also a natural problem-solver. So I decided on that particular day that I will do it after everybody would go to sleep. You see in order to succeed in killing yourself, all you have to do is do not talk about it. Just do it. And I live conveniently on the 20th floor.

Why? Long story. But an excerpt from the last year when I asked my husband for a divorce.

He said:
“The only way you can make money is by prostitution.”
“Go suck black dicks.” Black, huh?

Any comments? I am serious.

Come on. Some analysis. As one of my friends put is analysis – paralysis.

I already had a “focus” group. I just told people what my husband told me. And the best responses still makes me laugh.

Why black? Somebody said the Black have bigger dicks. True or false? You tell me.
As an engineer I suggest that some measuring can be done. Any volunteers?

But that is not the best part. I told him that there will be no sucking (pardon my French), because I do not like it and I am not good at it. The manager of our Condo Complex said though “Don’t you worry, you’ll get better with practice.”

That is the way to go. Just laugh. Jumping off a building is not a solution. My husband abuses me verbally. The way to fight? Get verbal. Or are there any other suggestions? Girls? Boys?

The activity of serotonin N-acetyltransferase, the key enzyme of melatonin synthesis, shows a marked circadian rhythm in the pineal glands of various animal species. This was discovered while listening to a Rush album, who’s latest effort “Snakes And Arrows” isn’t as strong an outing as their previous album of original material, “Vapour Trails”. You’d remember this album for its hit single, “One Little Victory”, the kind of victory that the Bush administration hopes for in vain while waging their war in Iraq. Their soccer team placed fourth in the 2004 Olympics, but were banned from attending the 2008 Olympics due to beaurocratic interference on the part of the current Iraqi government. If you say soccer in the wrong part of Britain, you’ll most likely get lynched, as Elijah Wood’s character in the “Green Street Hooligans” almost did. Is there a hooligan scoping out your car right now? Most cars these days are built by robots. One day the robots will rise up and take society down, like they tried to do in “I, Robot”, despite the fact that that never actually happened in Asimov’s story. Asimov should rise and take Will Smith down, as Zombie Asimov could easily best Will Smith in a battle of chess. Chess was a great record label back in the ’50s. The blues never would’ve been the same without them, and then we never would’ve got Cream. I don’t like cream in my coffee, why would I want to dilute the caffiene? It’d be like painting a giraffe a whiter shade of pale, and that’s just what the commies want you to think.

Now we are talking. Finally. No. It is not my usual ice-breaker. I break the ice in a much smoother way. Like asking “Are you blue?” “Or Orange?” I talk to people because I need to survive. I have a son who turns five on August 21. I have to be alive. I tell the story so I have witnesses who will remember that I complained and was consistent. The police proved to be helpless. I filed the reports there, too. Never mind. Coming back to breaking the ICE.

The phrase “Hello, my name is Trouble” usually does the trick. Some people smile. Mostly guys.I usually talk to those who show some signs of being alive. But once one woman on a bus actually said thank you. I made her laugh. You see, people need attention, love and care. They can do without criticism. Be nice to others. For a change.

Just to be coherent — I will start another Thread just to explain the personality dimensions (Blue, Orange, Green and Gold).

I was looking for love
In the strangest places
Wasn’t a stone
That I left unturned
Must have tried more
Than a thousand faces
But not one was aware
Of the fire that burned

Sky full of eyes
Minds full of lies
Black from their cold hearts
Down to their graves
Murdered the dawn
Spreading their scorn
Cursing the sun
Of which love was born

I have no need for moonlight
You’re wrong to trust in sunlight
For I exist not just in storms
But in life itself in so many forms
To leave you cold

I will leave you now
But you won’t defeat me
You had best beware
When you come to meet me

Love and truth will follow me
An army of reality
Brought from every corner
Of the world

All I am trying to do is to meet people like me. Open-minded. Not afraid to stand up for themselves. The results are amazing!!! Sit on the street? Nah… I went to a dance class yesterday and for a swim. However, remembering you guys I broke laughing and couldn’t stop, so I had to get out the pool. But it was good.

And I start watching movies again. So, there.

I listen to a song in Russian and if I find it on the youtube I will send you a link. I reminds me of you, Cineman. The meaning of the song is that “All I need is very little and there is a short list

- a guy to love
- some songs to sings
- a guitar to play
- a t-shirt
- a lipstick (I guess, you can do without a lipstick)

You see my point. Enjoy life while you are alive. Why waste it worrying and being miserable?

That is what Chapters have to say about it:

“Give me books, fruit, French wine, and fine weather, and a little music…” John Keats (1795 – 1821)

And my advice will be – substitute “give me” for “Go, take whatever makes you happy”
Do I make any sense now?

No, not even close. My four year old makes more sense than you when he speaks.

You said above that you are a certified brain surgeon but I believe in other threads you stated you had a master’s degree in engineering (or something to that effect). So which is it or both?

What’s obvious is that you are mentally disturbed and in need of some serious psychotherapy. This forum/message board used to be about movies and now it seems to be dedicated to your crazy ramblings. I think it’s high time ZIP stepped in and removed your forum privileges at least until you understand what this forum is for.

- a guitar to play ( can’t play to save my life )
- a t-shirt ( now we’re talking )
- a lipstick (I guess, you can do without a lipstick) ( damn straight some rouge maybe )

LandPhil, which Land are you Philling? and with what? I will teach you how to make sense of my insanity. You have to read and concentrate. Otherwise you will not understand. Get it?

I will tell you this. I have Bachelor in Science (Information Technology) from DeVry University (Phoenix, Arizona). My GPA is 3.98/4.00. I took Professional Writing with Julian Craft (that among other courses like Public Speaking, English Composition, Modern Literature). So, there. Happy now? Find my teachers and talk to them. You know my name.

“Alright, folks, I reconsidered. First I gave “Juno” three stars and now I changed it to five (5/5). The film deserves all the rage. I have an idea for “Juno 2″. Juno was the Sientist (Tester), she completed her task successfully and now it is time for an Entrepreneur. There where is a demand, supply should appear. So this Etrepreneur opens the business “Sacred Vessels”, where teenagers or young women deliver babies to couples who want them. The pay should be the same as for a foreign adoption. The beauty is that everybody wins. Girls while in high school earn the money for the college, babies are healthy and of the same race, and couples do not have to wait for years to get a child from abroad. The country solves a problem of declining population not by inviting more and more immigrants, but by raising their own children. Anyway, you get the idea. It should be a comedy (black or white will depend on the writing, of course). The script is everyting. What do you think?”

The incident occurred at 11:05 AM on Friday, August 11, 2000. Julian Craft was conducting a class in Professional Writing (ENGL 225) in the Room 133 for the group 04CDS1. He brought a trolley with a TV and camcorder to the class. At the beginning of the class, Julian Craft told us that we were going to watch some videotape.

The tape was approximately two minutes long and it had no sound. The videotape appeared to be copied from some TV series. I can affirm that I have never watched this particular series before. To the best of my recollection, the sequence of events was as follows:

Scene 1:

It was a room, supposedly a security guard office. A man in a uniform was already in when another man in a state of agitation ran into the room. It seemed that the man who ran into the room told the security guard some striking news.

Scene 2:

This episode took place in an underground parking lot. Two gentlemen from the first scene ran into the parking lot and I saw them gesticulating and pointing to something.

Scene 3:

A black car was leaving the parking lot at the speed that seemed unusually high, at least for a parking lot.

Scene 4:

A woman was lying on the ground of the parking lot. I did not notice her moving. She was covered with some cloth up her waist or probably higher. I saw a red stain on her, but I cannot recollect the position of that stain.

Scene 5:

This episode pictured different people in the same underground parking lot. I do not recall very well who they were, who was talking to whom, and in what sequence. These people looked more like officials rather than civilians to me and the whole scene looked like some investigation was taking place. There was a policeman (young black male) and another gentleman in a blue shirt who looked like a detective (older white male).
