A poem about Winter Landscape.

Surprisingly enough, I was thinking what I could write about Winter Landscape. That was my homework for January. Yes, that one from the calendar.

And that is what I found.

A Russian romance “In the Moonlight the snow is sparkling”.

Because it is Russian Romance, it is in the Russian language. Obviously, but that is not the point. I had to look up the word romance because I was not sure if I used it correctly. Apparently, I was right and one of the meanings of “romance” is “a short, lyrical composition.”

But then I looked at the origin of the word and that where I lost my conscience. (A joke!) The word “romance” stems from the word Roma = Rome. If I take things literally and I do it quite often, just for fun, then a Russian Romance is a contradiction of terms.

So, all these meanings: a love story, a literary genre, the aura of excitement and more simply come back to Rome. Literally, all roads lead to Rome. Or rather all ROMANCES originate in Rome. Or? Maybe that is the reason why my Italian friend is so amorous all the time.

Coming back to “In the moonlight the snow is sparkling”. This romance is neither about winter, nor about landscape, it is about Love.

The sounds the boat made were green and wispy. They were 6 by 7 days at sea. A man holding 5 octopi, two missing a tentacle each. Ink running black down his forearms. Two cars colliding head on. An 84 year old man with the stick shift through his forehead, I did not try and save him, he was split in two. I laugh as I pull the mangled victims, (girl 20, guy 22) from the other vehicle just before the fire spreads. The blood is red but smells green on my fingers. The old man was crispy. Everything seems A-minor.

Homework: who knows what Kallinik stands for?

From the Greek:

Kallini = “Beautiful victory”
Kallinike = “Beautiful victory”

So, I assume Kallinik means the same thing.

What’s really odd, however, is that PokerFace means “ugly loser” in Swedish (pokeransikte).

Round 2:

Kalli= beautiful [from the greek word: kallos (noun) or kalos (adj.)]

Nike= The goddess of victory in ancient Greece. She was honoured by Zeus because she fought on the side of the gods against the Titans. So the Athenians dedicated her statue in Delphi after the naval victory over the Persians at Salamis (480 BC). However, athletes and charioteers also paid her honour for their successes in the games. For the Romans Nike became a symbol of victory over death, their own Victoria ensuring earthly conquests.

——————————-

Kallipugos is a Greek word that means “beautifully shaped buttocks.”

Nike is the maker of running shoes and other fine products.

So, I assume Kallipuginike means “beautifully ass-shaped running shoe.”

So it was so easy, PokerFace, was it not? Thank you. Also, calla lilies are from the same Greek word kallos. So, beautiful flowers. Are they not? That is why I picked one as a picture representation.

But the reason my school friends nicknamed me Kallini was much simpler: my maiden name was Kalinichenko. But I grew so used to Kallini, I don’t really wanna change. Besides it suits me perfectly now. Yes, I am beautiful in my own mind and I fight until I win, big time. I have been through Boot Camp, believe me. And it is not so much about fighting and winning, it is about justice.

An I intend to go from Ivanova (my husband’s name) back to Kalinichenko. Why? Because after 16 years of following rules and doing everything that others think is right for me, I realized nobody and nothing can really stop me from being myself. They can try. Be my guest.

I will reveal (oh, no! she is going at it again!) my inspiration!

Vladimir Voinovich “Monumental Propaganda”

- “And I saw him there dead, just like yourself.”
- “What d’you mean, just like me? objected Zhikharev, ready to take offense. “I’m not dead.”
- “Not in the sense that you’re dead, but I was standing right beside him. … So… I could see his face as well as I can see yours. And he was quite dead. He wasn’t breathing, he didn’t blink, he was made up and the colour was like a live person all right, but he was dead as a doornail.”

-”I’m not saying the corpse wasn’t dead. Only the corpse wasn’t Stalin, but People’s Artist Gelovani. They buried him instead.”
-”Alive?” Saraev asked in horror.

Dear Wentai!!!!!!!!!!! I like you already! You gave the best response to my idea. High five for that! However, you were wrong. My idea flew! I opened my club. I am the Organizer (I can’t come up with a better title, but I am open to suggestions.) So far it is MY club and I make the rules. Fair enough? My club has already one member. His nickname is “Go-Ahead” guy and his number is 1. Hey, he was here first. My number is 42 and there is a reason. We called MY club “The Crazy People”, but it is subject to change. I am open to suggestions. It is free and everybody is invited.

It is located at Chapters (Kennedy Commons). I am writing here today (as of now).

The rules:

1) I accept you as long as you accept me.
2) We can discuss anything. Books, films, sex, life skills, education, cars, life. Everything! If you cannto handle this, then do not.
3) It is a open club concept. When I am here, then you can come. Be my guest.
4) If you cannot handle me, then do not.

I always get what I want. Remember the sex talk? Did I get what I wanted? Oh, yeah!!!!!!!!!!! Would you like to hear the story? Come and I tell you.

I do not hide behind the computer. I sit in front of you (kinda easier to type). But, hey, I am crazy. Read my posts, if you need proof.

See you! Hugs, kisses and LOVE

Kallinik

Well, it is self-explanatory. It’s a literary club. I like taking things literally. It is my forte. And it’s tons of fun. Speaking of F-words.

Fun
Friend(s)
Freedom

Take your pick. I have been told to “zip it up”. I did. You see, I am a member of Zip(pers). It is never what you think. Expect the unexpected. Cause it is coming. Or going. My club is always there. Where I go. And I most of the time on the Go. Go, Canada, Go. Go, Toronto, go. Go Green. Whatever. Are we having fun, yet? What is my point? Point Zero. Flashpoint. Like I care. How does it sound? Check out my profile. By the way, Chapters still is my Favourite (another F-word) store.

By the way, I am crazy and I am not (it’s a paradox). I am unique just like everybody else. My number is 42. Why? I picked this number, this number picked me. It is the answer to “Life, the universe and everything”. However. My Police Division number is 42, which is located at 242 Milner Avenue. Both of my parents are born in 1942. I am 37 years of age. My grandfather was 37 in 1942. My favourite book is “Moscow 2042″. And my telephone number ends with … By the way, where is Zaphod? I think I am on the way of developing the mind that he so cleverly suggested, don’t you think?
